One of the exciting opportunities about being a foundation trust
is establishing our Council of Members.
The Council of Members is made up of Elected and Appointed
Governors.
To read more about Governors and their role and to find out how
to stand for election as a Governor click on the Governors page on
the left hand side.
The Public Membership
is divided into eight areas. The areas match local
parliamentary wards. A public member will live in one of the
eight public constituency areas and will elect people from that
area to the Council of Members.
- 4 Wolverhampton North East:
- 4 Wolverhampton South East:
- 4 Wolverhampton South West:
- 1 South Staffordshire
- 1 Walsall
- 1 Dudley
- 1 Shropshire
- 1 Rest of England
Public Members can only stand and vote
for Governors in the electoral constituencies or catchment area in
which they live. For example – if you live in Wolverhampton
South East you can only vote for people standing for election in
Wolverhampton South East.
The Staff Membership
is divided into five classes of staff based on the different groups
of staff working in the Trust. Every staff member will
belong to one of the below groups and elect a governor to
represent them.
- 1 Medical / Dental
- 1 Nursing / Midwifery
(registered/unregistered)
- 1 Allied Healthcare
Professionals & Healthcare Scientists
(registered/unregistered)
- 1 Hotel / Estates / Volunteers
- 1 Administrative & Clerical /
Senior and General Managers
If a staff member is employed by more
than one organisation they can be a member of each organisation but
can only stand for election as a governor in one.
Appointed Governors
will represent a range of key partner organisations, bringing with
them expertise associated with their organisation and a wider
perspective and opportunities.
The following Partner Organisations
will be invited to appoint Governors:
- 1 University of Wolverhampton
- 1 Wolverhampton Local Authority
- 1 Wolverhampton City Primary Care
Trust
- 1 University of Birmingham Medical
School
- 1 Wolverhampton Youth Council
- 1 Voluntary Sector Organisation e.g.

- 1 West Midlands Ambulance Trust
- South Staffordshire PCT
The structure of the Council of
Members is as follows:
- Chair (the Chair is also the Chair of the
