Every year The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust is
required to carry out a detailed self-assessment of compliance
against the Core Standards for Better Health in preparation for
annual declaration. This declaration is monitored by the Care
Quality Commission (previously the Healthcare Commission), the
independent regulator of health and social care in England, and
forms part of the assessment in the Annual Health Check, which is
the overall performance rating used in the NHS.
