With patient safety and
infection prevention high on the Trust agenda, Dr Hans Clean is
used throughout the Acute Hospital site to deliver the New Cross
Code: Five clear messages to help reduce infections on site.

Dr Hans Clean has been placed throughout the hospital site, on
entrances to lifts and at various strategic points with clear
messages for patients, visitors and staff, on the role they have to
play. He will be seen in leaflets, posters, patients letters, on
the entrances coming into the hospital and on the sides of some
buildings.
Life size suits of Dr Hans
Clean will bring him to life and ensure he can attend community
events and spread the word about infection prevention, and animated
versions of him will appear on information screens, which have been
installed at key locations throughout the hospital. Dr Hans Clean
has attended the City Show and the Gem Children’s Centre to promote
awareness around infection prevention.
