A Patient and Public Engagement Strategy - 2008 - 2011
Introduction
This strategy updates and replaces that endorsed by the Trust
Board in March 2006. This strategy takes into account new policy
requirements, good practice and directions issued by the Department
of Health. Consequently, building on our previous strategy of
involvement, the emphasis is now of patient and public
engagement.
The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust (RWHT) has a long
history of seeking feedback from and consulting with patients and
carers, during the development of services such as clinical
pathways for Cardiac Surgery and more recently reviewing and
revising pathways to meet national targets. The Trust is committed
to working with patients, carers and key stakeholders with a desire
to learn from user experience.

Foundation Trust - Becoming a Member
One
of the important differences about Foundation Trusts is their
responsibilities to the local people who become members of the
Trust. You can be a member if you live in the areas served by the
Trust, have been a patient or carer of a patient who has used our
services in the last 2 years or you are a member of staff.
